On 13 May 2004 the Electricity Commission announced its decision regarding the Undesirable Trading Situation (UTS) for certain nodes in the Tauranga region for trading period 36 on 24 April 2004.
The Commission sought submissions on its decision. TrustPower, and most other submitters, raised more general matters regarding the modelling and frequency of constraints within SPD. The Commission considered that these issues did not constitute a UTS but were worthy of further consideration. This was discussed at a recent CEO’s forum and the Commission agreed to establish a group (subsequently named the Constraint Issues Group) to analyse and clearly define the issues and provide recommendations to the Commission.
The Commission would like to highlight that the group will have specific objectives and is expected to conclude its work within two months.
