Reconciliation – background
The reconciliation rule change has been signed off by the Minister of Energy and came into effect on 1 May 2008. Subsequent minor rule amendments came into effect on 1 November 2008.
The reconciliation project, amongst other things, changes the market reconciliation process from differencing reconciliation to global reconciliation and introduces a new compliance regime. The retail market will be reconciled using all meter readings, not just those submitted by the non-incumbent retailers and any unaccounted for electricity will be shared amongst buyers. In addition, there will be links between the registry and reconciliation systems that will enable the allocation of unaccounted for electricity to be done on a fair basis.
Participant identifiers/codes
Participants use four letter participant identifiers to access the registry and provide submission information to the reconciliation manager. The spreadsheet below contains all known current and historic participant identifiers. Historic identifiers have been end dated.
As at 1 May 2008, reconciliation participants must obtain and use participant identifiers to correctly identify that reconciliation participant’s submission information. To have a participant identifier created, please fill out the relevant sections in the registry access application form.
