Posted 8 September 2009
The Electricity Commission invites submissions on the consultation document “Proposed amendments to parts E and J of the Rules (and consequential amendments to parts A and H of the Rules”.
The reconciliation rules (Reconciliation Rules) became effective on 1 May 2008. They were notified by the Minister of Energy pursuant to section 172H of the Electricity Act 1992 by Gazette notice on 7 November 2006. Subsequent minor amendments came into effect on 1 November 2008.
The Reconciliation Rules were implemented to ensure that the Rules reflected the recommendations for enhancing the reconciliation system, contained in the Electricity Commission’s Reconciliation Implementation Project Team final report.
As a result of rule change submissions from participants and the Commission’s observations of the operation of the Rules, the Commission proposes changes to parts of the Rules to support and enhance the reconciliation, registry and the customer switching processes.
