The Electricity Commission has released its draft proposal for its appropriations for the 2008/09 year in accordance with section 172ZCA(1) of the Electricity Act 1992 (Act). Submissions close on 14 January 2008. However, the Commission would welcome submissions before Christmas.

(a) work priorities for 2008/09; and
(b) appropriations for 2008/09 (as required by section 172ZCA of the Electricity Act 1992 (the Act).
The paper does not include potential increases in cost as a result of current negotiations for the System Operator Service Provider Agreement (SOSPA). Discussions are continuing on the costs and services to be provided. A separate consultation process will take place once SOSPA discussions have progressed to an appropriate stage.
The Commission does not require a specific format to be followed for submissions. However, an optional template for responses has been provided with this consultation paper. You may wish to use the template, which is designed to assist the Commission with assessment of the submissions in response to this consultation.
