The current AUFLS exemptions are due to expire on 31 March 2010. The Commission is consulting on options to clarify the circumstances and conditions under which AUFLS providers might be relieved of their AUFLS obligations. A paper discussing issues and options has been prepared.
Submissions on the proposal are invited by 4pm on 13 November 2009. A second round of consultation will be carried out on proposed Rule amendments, if considered necessary, following receipt of first round of submissions.
The preference is to receive submissions in electronic format (Microsoft Word). The electronic version should be emailed with Consultation Paper- AUFLS Exemptions – Issues and Options in the subject header to submissions@electricitycommission.govt.nz. If submitters do not wish to send their submission electronically, they should post it in hard copy form to:

All submissions will be acknowledged electronically. Please contact Kate Hudson if you do not receive electronic acknowledgement of your submission within two business days of sending it.

Submitters should indicate any documents attached, in support of the submission, in a covering letter and clearly indicate any information that is provided to the Commission on a confidential basis.
