Proposed funding programme for residential compact fluorescent lamps [Closing date: 2006/02/03 17:00:00 GMT+13]

The Electricity Commission is working to convert government electricity policy into practical programmes that can be shown to enhance the generation, transmission and use of electricity in an efficient, fair, reliable and environmentally sustainable way.  Accordingly, the Commission recently announced its commitment to fund a $2 million programme to encourage the nationwide take up of compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs).

The proposed model for the national programme draws on methodology, outcomes and knowledge gained from CFL pilot programmes conducted by the Commission in partnership with other organisations during 2005.

The Commission seeks feedback from the lighting and electricity industries and energy efficiency organisations on the model for the proposed programme design and the proposed CFL standard to help guide the development of the national CFL programme.

Following consultation, further work may be undertaken to finalise a national CFL funding programme for implementation in early 2006.

The Commission’s preference is to receive submissions in electronic form (Microsoft Word format) and to receive one hard copy of the electronic version.
Please send your submission to jenny.walton@electricitycommission.govt.nz

Closing date for submissions is 5 pm on 3 February 2006.
