Draft outage protocol and draft connection code [Closing date: 2007/11/22 12:00:00 GMT+13]

Before the benchmark agreement can take effect, the Connection Code and Outage Protocol must be added to the Rules. 

Pursuant to a request from the Commission, Transpower has provided a proposed draft Connection Code (to be added as Schedule 8 of the benchmark agreement) and proposed draft Outage Protocol (to be added as a schedule to section VII of part F of the Rules) to the Commission. 

The Commission has prepared a consultation paper containing the statement of proposal required to be prepared in accordance with section 172F of the Act, for the purposes of consultation under section 172E(2)(b)(ii).

The Commission will hold a briefing on the proposed Outage Protocol, Connection Code and Interconnection Service Measures in the afternoon of 12 November 2007. To enable participants and affected parties to better take account of any further understanding  developed at the briefing, the Commission is extending the closing date for submissions on the draft Outage Protocol and Connection Code to midday, 22 November 2007 which is the same as closing date as the Interconnection Service Measures paper. Late submissions are unlikely to be able to be considered.

The Commission’s preference is to receive submissions in electronic format (Microsoft Word and/or pdf). Submissions in electronic version should be emailed with ‘draft Connection Code and draft Outage Protocol submission’ in the subject header to info@electricitycommission.govt.nz.
If submitters do not wish to send their submission electronically, they should post one hard copy of their submission to the address below.
