Issues and Indicative Options for the Spot Market Pricing Process and UTS Provisions [Closing date: 2009/02/20 17:00:00 GMT+13]

The Electricity Commission invites submissions on the consultation paper "Issues and Indicative Options for the Spot Market Pricing Process and UTS Provisions". This paper highlights issues in regard to the wholesale electricity spot market pricing process and the provisions governing undesirable trading situations (UTS's). In several cases, indicative options are presented for consideration.

The Commission has extended the closing date for submissions on the proposal to 5pm on 20 February 2009.

Public Briefing

The public briefing was held at the Commission's office on Tuesday 10 February 2009.

The objective of the briefing was to present the information contained within the consultation paper in advance of respondents finalising their written submissions to the Commission (closing on 20 February 2009). Questions and comments were encouraged during the briefing.

The Commission’s preference is to receive submissions in electronic format (Microsoft Word). The electronic version should be emailed with ”Issues and Indicative Options for the Spot Market Pricing Process and UTS Provisions” in the subject header to submissions@electricitycommission.govt.nz. If submitters do not wish to send their submission electronically, they should post it in hard copy form to:

The Commission will acknowledge receipt of all submissions electronically. Please contact the Commission if you do not receive electronic acknowledgement of your submission within two business days of sending it.

Your submission is likely to be made available to the general public on the Commission’s website. Submitters should indicate any documents attached, in support of the submission, in a covering letter and clearly indicate any information that is provided to the Commission on a confidential basis. All information provided to the Commission is subject to the Official Information Act 1982.
