Operations and development

The operation of the electricity market under the Electricity Governance Regulations and Rules commenced on 1 March 2004. The Commission has contracted service providers to administer and support the operation of the market.

In addition to providing market governance, the Commission has clear objectives to improve market operations industry efficiency. Major tasks that the Commission needs to complete as part of meeting these objectives are outlined in its work programme.
