Review

The review of the national forecasts carried out by the Commission for the 2005 Statement of Opportunities is outlined in the Demand forecast model review 2004 pdf [594 KB] document.

The forecasting methodology was reviewed by NZIER pdf [147 KB], which resulted in additional analysis pdf [29 KB] by the Commission.

A sensitivity analysis pdf [67 KB] was carried out to assess the impact on the forecasts when various modelling assumptions were changed.

The Commission carried out some initial work to assess alternative methodologies pdf [42 KB] for allocating the national forecasts to a regional level.
