This page provides material on the Modelling Group's work in progress. Current projects (outside Part F) include:
- Grid Planning Assumptions
- Research on development of marine energy in New Zealand
- Modelling of future gas supply for the generation sector
- Bringing the SPECTRA hydrothermal model up to date for internal use
- Working to reconcile available hydro inflow datasets
- Preparing an information sheet that lists the GXPs in New Zealand and providing information on each
- Electric vehicles and their potential impacts on the power system
- Analysis of wind integration (as distinct from the Common Quality group's wind generation projects)
See also the Centralised Dataset (CDS), which contains historical metering, market related, hydrological, and network related data. The CDS is available on request.
- A web interface to the CDS has been recently been developed. It allows users to access summarised half-hourly data with a simple query tool.
- The group is working on adding new data to the CDS, including AC arc flows, instantaneous reserve offers and cleared quantities, hydro lake levels, and updated hydrological inflows.
