Advanced Metering Solutions conference

The Commission has organised a Load Management and Metering conference in Wellington each year since 2005. This year the conference was an Advanced Metering Solutions Conference, which was held on 25 November 2008 at The Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington. The emphasis was on the recent developments in Advanced Metering Infrastructure in New Zealand and overseas.

The main topics related to progress with advanced metering as seen by retailer, distributors, meter owners, and service providers. The conference dealt with the Commission’s progress on the reform of the metering rules (part D of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003) and the development of the Commission's policy on metering. There was also a presentation on recent work on smart metering commissioned by the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment and an update on developments in Australia.

The conference was audio recorded transcribed. This is available below as one full document or in its seperate parts.

Details of previous conferences are available on the load management page.
