The purpose of the electricity information exchange protocols (EIEPs) is to enable the exchange of low cost, standardised and reliable information between participants. The protocols are agreed between participants and are not mandatory.
To ensure that the EIEPs are kept up to date with evolving technology and industry standards the Standing Data Formats Group (SDFG) has been established. The SDFG is a panel of industry representatives who review the protocols on a yearly basis or at the request of participants.
if you have any queries, please send an email to retailoperations@electricitycommission.govt.nz.
EIEPs under discussion
The SDFG recently recommended that EIEP 7 (general installation status change) be modified to include two post-notification disconnection codes:
ECR – electricity credit remote disconnect; and
EVR – electricity vacant remote disconnect.
The Commission will have regard to any comments on the addition of these codes to EIEP 7 by 5.00 pm on Friday 3 September 2010. Please send your comments to retailoperations@electricitycommission.govt.nz with ‘EIEP7’ in the subject.
