Storage and thermal use projections

It is important that the projections presented be viewed in light of the assumptions underlying them. With this caveat in mind the following graphs present the projected range of New Zealand hydro storage profiles, the projected fuel use at Huntly,  Otahuhu B, Taranaki CC, Southdown and Whirinaki.

The Projected Range of Hydro Storages chart below indicates projected hydro storages for each of the historic 79 inflow sequences. The thick black line is the average of all storage projections and does not represent the storage projection of any one inflow sequence.

These projections were last updated in April 2010. Under normal conditions, they will be updated no more than quarterly. In a potential or actual shortage situation they may be updated more often.
