Part A of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 (Rules) defines a business day as follows:
“business day” means any day of the week except Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and any other day from time to time declared by the market administrator not to be a business day by notice to each registered participant in the manner set out in the rules;
Monday 19 January 2009 is Wellington Anniversary holiday.
The ability of the pricing manager, the grid owner and the system operator to resolve provisional pricing situations on days other than business days is recognised by the Rules, with different time limits for achieving different actions being specified in section V of part G of the Rules. The pricing manager, grid owner and system operator are all Wellington based meaning that the same reasons for applying different time limits will arise on Monday 19 January 2009 as on any national public holiday.
Accordingly the market administrator declares that Monday 19 January 2009 will not be a business day for all purposes under the Rules.
