Otahuhu substation upgrade IGE application

On 11 August 2006, Transpower applied to the Electricity Commission  (Commission)for approval of interim grid expenditure (IGE) for up to $77.3 million for a grid development proposal at the Otahuhu substation.

The Commission completed a preliminary review of the supporting information provided by Transpower and has requested further information from Transpower to provide clarification on some matters.

Having previously signalled its intention to engage with stakeholders as much as possible within the confines of the transitional provisions contained within rule 16, the Commission has published a paper for consultation, pursuant to rule 16.4.2 of section III of part F.

The Commission would like to consider the views of submitters before making its decision on the Otahuhu IGE Application.  Therefore, the Commission invites interested parties to make submissions on this paper, including providing responses to the Commission’s specific questions contained in Section 6 of the paper, before the submission close date of
5 pm on 20 September 2006.
