Notice of Intention
On 31 January 2007, in accordance with rule 15.1 of section III of part F of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003, the Commission published a notice of its intent to approve Transpower's Proposal.
Request to hold a public conference
The Commission received several requests for a public conference under rule 15.2 of section III of part F of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 and has agreed to hold a public conference. The purpose of the public conference is to provide a final opportunity for comment in relation to Transpower’s Proposal.
The public conference process includes the opportunity to make written submissions about the Commission’s decision.
Following the public conference, the Commission may confirm or amend the Proposal, or decline it and publish reasons.
The Commission was assisted in its decision making by analysis of the information provided by Transpower, and analysis carried out by Commission staff and advisers. In particular, the results of the Commission's economic analysis are contained in the report below:
As part of its process to explain the decision, the Commission held a number of public briefings in late February and early March.
