Grid Upgrade Plan 2005
Transpower submitted the GUP to the Electricity Commission on 30 September 2005. The GUP can be found on Transpower’s website and it contains, among other things :
- A comprehensive plan for asset management and operation of the grid;
- Information on investment contracts; and
- Four investment proposals:
- Proposed North Island 400kV grid upgrade from Whakamaru-Otahuhu
- A plan to upgrade the HVDC inter-island link
- Central North Island Thermal Upgrade Project involving a number of circuit upgrades to central North Island circuits; and
- Bunnythorpe-Haywards Thermal Upgrade Project
On 20 October 2006, Transpower submitted an amendment to its proposed North Island grid upgrade.
