Obligations on market participants to disclose risk management contract information came into effect on 2 February 2009. The obligations are set out in section VI of part G of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 (Rules). Risk management contracts that meet the requirements as set out in the Rules will need to be disclosed.

Disclosed information can be viewed for free at www.electricitycontract.co.nz (there is no need to log on).
Participants must disclose the required information using the www.electricitycontract.co.nz website. They will need a log on to upload information. Also available on this site is a template for bulk uploading multiple hedge contracts and a simple user guide for the bulk uploading template.
Associated downloads
The Commission has published:
- Annual lists of nodes along with their associated grid zones and location factors
- A form for the annual certification by each participant of disclosed information. Certification is required by 30 June each year for the previous year ended 31 March.
