Rules and regulations
The Electricity Regulations and Rules were promulgated on 18 December 2003. The set of rules was inherited from the electricity industry's self-governing arrangements which existed prior to the Commission's establishment in September 2003 The Commission has been charged with developing those rules to ensure best conditions exist for workable and effective competition and to ensure that the government's other objectives for the electricity sector are met.
Rules and Regulations
The operation of the electricity market under the new Electricity Governance Rules and Regulations commenced on 1 March 2004.
